Population Served:

Families with visually impaired children from birth to 16 years of age; children must have a bilateral visual pathology that is a substantial impediment to learning.

Area Served:

Statewide; District 3 – Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, and St. Johns counties

Description:

Core services are parent education, information and referral, and advocacy services.

Limited funds are available for glasses, low vision aids, and/or training materials.

Preschool vision services are contracted for children in areas where these services are not available.

The Children’s Specialist assists in transition from school to work.

The Children’s Specialist works closely with families transitioning from the Early Intervention Program to school-based instruction.

The Division will sponsor a portion of the cost for those wishing to attend the Florida Lions Camp in Lake Wales, Florida.
